mixture to rich?

when ever i get out my car either just started or after a run i can smell the petrol in the fumes and its too strong in my opinion, any suggestions?

Probably nothing wrong. If your convinced change the lambda sensor. Then there will be definately nothing wrong.

even my mates said the mixture smells too strong, would the manifold back janspeed exhaust along with k & N be a problem or cause?
how much is a lamba sensor? and is it best to get standuard nissan one?

when i first had my induction and backbox on i could smell petrol but i just put it down to the backbox being new

To be honest no human can tell how much fuel is going in a car by the smell of it. So you have a choice of testing and seeing definatively and then knowing for sure or just guessing and probably getting it wrong.

just work out the mpg, and if its pretty close to the handbook then its probably ok

Or going on what Ed said pop along to a freindly MOT station and see if there test it for a drink.
