Intake n exhaust almost done, suspension next :)
So I've replaced my cross member (bolted in) and am still yet to weld it in place. After a week or so of research, I'm fairly set on getting a welder in the 150-160 Amp range using refillable gas.
One of the welding guides I came across said that disconnecting the battery terminals wasn't sufficient to protect the electronic components of the car such as the head unit, ECU and other sensitive electronics components, due to a current spike when the arc stops?
Is this something that applies to a K11, like should I disconnect stuff other than the battery leads when welding the body like the crossmember, sills, arches?
