Hi,

New to the forum but thought I would post up a few pictures of the Micra rally car I purchased November last year.I't s bog standard 1300.The car has a tank and sump guard.All lines are inside.Seats,harnesses,cage and spots and the other necessary bits for a road rally car.

Did the Mel Harris road rally in November and finished a good 8th O/a and best under 1400.Just competed on another road rally the Saturday just passed on the Bro Preseli Novice road rally and finished 5th O/a and again best under 1400 even with a few problems and dramas.

Hi Mate

It's good to see you are out having fun and showing people what the Micra is made of. Your roll cage front legs look interesting, do you know who made the cage? It looks like the front legs have been bent to get around the dash board? If you are thinking of up rating the suspension or making some engine improvements you might like to have a look on our website www.humphrisoxford.co.uk under the rally section. I also have a couple of cars with different suspension fitted which you would be more than welcome to come and try.

Hi Matt,

Ye I already know about all the rally parts you have.Think I rang you sometime at the end of last year asking about a second hand gearbox with a 4:4 CWP in it.As for the cage,it was a homemade effort by the previous owner and it is'nt a proper bend so to say.Ideally it isn't safe at all.I have been in two minds to now buy a facelift model and start again as after only 4 events this one is getting tired and I have bent a few things.Obviously will be buying a new cage if I do and then getting it to logbook standards.But I have bought a Mk2 Escort recently so I'm a tad undecided.The Escort is going to be very,very,very hard on the wallet!!!!

Please tell us which bits of the Micra have not fared well under the pressures of road rallying.

To be honest I haven't had any problems at all so far.Can't fault the car.Been running it on standard suspension and everything and it's been all good.I have managed to bend the bottom of the inner wing a front subframe on the passenger side but that was my fault as I cut a hairpin far too much and there was a massive step on the inside.So I hit the front sumpguard mount very hard and it pushed the inner wing and front subframe up.

looking good just wanted 2 no what the alloys were off cos im having a hard time finding sum like yors wiv the same center bore thanks

Which ones alloys lad? The 5 spoke ones or the other ones? Not sure what the 5 spoke ones are as they came with the car and they required spacers to get them to sit right. The other alloys are Compomotive TH's. Basically your gravel rally wheel. The ones on my car are TH 1's.The newer models are TH2's and are slightle different. But just find a set of Vauxhall Nova,Corsa or Astra alloys or even VW Golf.All of them are 4 x 100's and ET49 and the bores are very similar. The ones I bought are slightly different.Still 4 x 100's but the ET is different and I had to drill the centres very,very slightly.1-2mm off and they now sit perfect with no problems

It's not that much of a great car to be honest.lol.It's bog standard apart from the necessary rally bits like the cage,seats etc.

Bought a few bits now to start building a new one now.Just need a nice tidy shell

I've recenlty just bought this car. Its in need of some TLC at the moment. Its getting welded as we speak, and hopefully it'll be ready in time for the Bro Caron Rally in February. Im normally the Navigator, but on this occasion i fancied a change. So i bought the Micra Beast for me to drive a few rallys my self. Any 13" alloys around anywhere that i could buy ? Haha

bought this car off Smiley,
scrapped the shell as was too far gone, but did take everything out of it, all the good bits are now being put into my 1400 k11, so she is now in that large micra playground in the sky....
