Hi All,
My 1988 Micra K10 automatic seems to be consuming a lot of fuel and requires me to press on the accellorator as I turn the key to get it to start. I can also slightly smell fuel when its running but not when the engine is off.
The Idle is a little rough, but once its running it doesn't stall. Other than that it drives well.
I've run a huge ammount of carb cleaner through the carb as well as redex through the engine to try to clean any blocks out. I got a bit of a performance boost but it didnt fix the fuel consumption or difficulty starting.
I've tried adjusting the idle screw on the carb but it just spins (do I need a special screw driver for it?).
I'm thinking that to fix it I have to rebuild the carb and hopefully it will consume less fuel and just start on the key?
Would appreciate anyones input before I undertake this incase I'm wrong or there is a more simple fix.
Many thanks for your time.
