What an Lsd is control the amount of slip between the two driven wheels. The reson for this is that a standard car has a diff called an open diff which isn't very good because it will send most of its power to the wheel with less grip. That why when you do a start u only have one wheel spinning. Where an lsd uses gears or cluthes to control the amount of slip between the wheels. If it is a cluth type diff it is no use putting it on a road car because when we use them for racing we have to build them every year so it's unsuitable for the road.
