No I haven't tried any cutting compound yet. I'm worried it might take too much off and leave me with next to no paint! Can you recommend something that is fairly mild?
Yeah, I'll have a look at what I've got tonight and let you know. It shouldn't take all your paint off - the difference is amazing - like from really matt soft orange to original bright red

ok Phantom - here's what I used with excellent results.
First is the cutting compound - This one was recommended for cars with red paint - Just took the autoparts guys word for it - I have found he knows his stuff pretty well.
And be sure to use a proper 100% cotton cloth. These are pure cotton with no abrasive additives. Don't be tempted to use a teatowel or other general cloth as you risk leaving fine scratches in the paintwork due to chemicals in normal cloth
