K12 Power Steering Fault

Got the dreaded PS fault on 2006 K12 micra.

Just going to clear the fault and trade it in.

My question is did they fix this fault in later models, lets say 2008-2010 or does the same fault exist throughout the whole K12 spectrum? Would like to get a micra again maybe 2009 but not if this problem will pop up again.

Hope 2009 cars aren't affected because I've just bought one . Seriously though, I'm not sure how year specific it is. I believe it's caused by holding the wheel on full lock burning out the motor. When manouvering the car, I'm always paranoid about leaving it on full lock any longer than necessary .

That's good advice, it was a problem on hydraulic PAS systems on full lock because it boiled the fluid.

Don't worry so much about using full lock as fighting against the lock-stops or scrubbing the tyres when the car isn't moving.
