k12 crossovers/tweeters

hi mate i think you`ll find there are no crossovers the tweeters are spliced into the wiring to the main fronts your probably best to just replace the lot the standard head unit can take it the size of the speakers is 6.5 "
theyre new components up front tho. theres defo something wrong somewer mate because all i hear from the front is the tweeters and when i shake the car they get louder and qieter sometimes the right one goes out and comes back on its all messed up :down: im not sure why the front speakers would go pop.

well i know there`s no crossovers behind the door cards and the workshop manual shows the tweeters spliced in why they`d blow though i have no idea i have run my car full volume off the headunit before i uprated the speakers all the time an never blew one of them
the cross over networks just filter the frequencies to the right speakers, but they are not mandatory, the tweeters will probably have a capacitor across them which effectively does the same thing that you would get in the cross over. i know the k11 factory speakers have these capacitors. if the capacitor has come loose, or taken the wire with it then it could be causing the problem. best thing to do is get the tweeters out and see if there is anything obviously wrong with them
Found the problem. My speakers are too big lol :wasntme:. Just put the old ones back in and all is fine. Turns out when i rolled the windows down fully they hit the back of the speaker. and eventually popped the grounds off the terminals.

lol wow what a random problem, i always install speakers with the windows down to make sure this doesn't happen, but then in the k11s the speakers back onto the runners, not the actual glass
