k11 Micra runs like crap

Hello i seem to be having a little problem with my k11 micra it seems to run very badly it bogs has a rough idle is slow *well slower then it should be ;) after a while when the car gets warm it tends to misfire a lot and stalls after the car will start altough not very happily and seems to be running on less cylinders then four, FYI 1996 GX CG10DE - 1l, dizzy engine no ac completely stock! around 106K killometers on the clock any help or tips is apreciated ou yes forgot to mention its a german/EU spec

It really sound like it is something related to the ignition system.
  • First i would check the spark plugs (Condition and see if they are gapped correctly around 1 to 1.1mm)
  • Check base timing is correct with a timing gun (Around 15º at idle when warm)
  • Then i would turn the car on and one by one start removing each ignition cable to see if when removed the idle drops or not. If it doesn´t change the idle then probably that cable/spark is bad. Check the cables as on my the car didnt misfire but when getting hot (stable on running temp) it started hesitating a bit. Changing the cables fix it for my as they where working but due to age and use i think it had created small crack/breaks on the core cables making the misfires.
  • Also check the distributor itself, specially the rotor arm and cap. Check that the metal on those pieces are clean and with enough material so that the spark can jump across easily (they tend to corrode leaving a white color on the contacts)
Yours sounds that is running worse than mine did but in case those 2 dont work it could be that the built in coil on the distributor might be going bad.

As a last resort i would start checking other elements like the MAF (I would check voltage references with the specs given in the manual).

Hello, no the sparkplugs are brand new ignition coil and ignition module are also new cap and rotor are in good condition spark plug cables are okay aswell. so spark isnt an issue MAF is a solid point there i heard that when theese go bad faults like mine has can appear oh what about fuel rough idle can be caused because the car isnt getting enough fuel? thanks for now much apreciated

Check the fuel tank for stuff at the bottom clogging up the pickup.

Also, another thing that might be failing is the ignition control module within the distributor. Google RSB-53 for the part.

i changed my igintion module some time ago not to long so its in working order yeah i thought of a fuel problem i mean i have compression and spark so fuel could be a solid guess
