K11 Micra 1.3 1998 Dip Beam not working

Hi

The dip beam on both near and offside are not working, but side lights and main beam are ok

I have checked the main fuses and also those in the engine bay, all seems ok

Any suggestions would be greatfully recieved

Check the bulbs, fuses and relays for your dip beam.

Would the relays effect both sides??, as i have lost both, the bulbs and fuses are fine as well from what I can tell

Not sure on the relays. I think they use seperate ones, which doesn't really help.

If you can, replace the fuses anyway. Sometimes it can just be a hairline crack.

Could be the switch contacts? I can't see them both going for any other reason.

No, relay

There are no relays in the car specifically for lights, I would recommend checking the following :

Both bulbs dip beam with a meter

Fuse 12 [in main fusebox] - (supply to the dim dip unit)

Fuse FC [in fusible link box] - (another supply to dim dip unit)

Fuse FD [in fusible link box] - (yet another supply to the dim dip unit)

If all these fuses are OK, then the next step is to disable the dim dip unit as discussed in the below link...

If you still cannot get the dips to operate, then you need to look at individual signals from the light switch.

Many thanks, I checked the bulbs with a meter and both bulbs dips had gone
