k11 digital speedo need correcting.

Hi,
To all the members I have 1997 k11 micra 1.0 and the speedo is a digital
display. I needed to adjust the mileage as I have picked this unit up from
the breakers yard. Far as I know that it is possible to correct the mileage
by a consult cable or obd lead attached and to run a software on a laptop.
Could someone shed some light as the software and lead would be usefull
in tuning the car as well. I have seen many obd lead and software on ebay.
Don`t know if it is correct for this car. THANKS!!!!

I'm not aware of any 97 micras having a digital dash..???

yeah its 98 and after thats digital

if you do need it oing look in autotrader or google digital mileage adjsuters

it will cost you about 50 quid and its a bit of a complex process to adjsut the mileage on the micras

It is the little square display which has the mileage,trip counter and clock in the
speedo.

I wanted to maintain the car and do most of the service and tune up myself that way I get a good idea when the car is not behaving.
I thought that the CONSULT LEAD OR OBD LEAD and SOFTWARE will help in
tuneup and to correct the mileage.
I am sure members are using similar ways to analyse and correct there car this way.

as far as i know, the mileage is stored in the speedo unit not the ecu if thats any help

I STILL WANTED TO ATTEMPT THIS MYSELF FIRST!!!!

PLEASE HELP AND ADVICE APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP GIVEN!!!!!!!!

MAYBE SOMEONE HAS A SOFTWARE AND LEAD TO CORRECT THE MILEAGE
AND HAVE A LOOK AT THE PRESENT SETUP.

no yo can't do it with a consult lead, there are companies out there that claim they can do it. as far as i know you can't change it but speak to one of the companies that claim they can

They will reprogram the speedo, it has nothing to do with the ecu.

Thanks for the help and advice I really appreciate it.!!!! I take it that it is not
possible for me to do the mileage correction as I thought that there is some
way to communicate to the speedo and adjust the mileage.!!!
I will be know looking for a company that does mileage correction.
