Whats the UK laws on back box removal? I'm rather confused with it, I see that you have to pass emissions control but without the back box will it not pass?

I guess it will be down to how loud it sounds to the tester. It shouldn't effect the emissions

Legally it can't be louder than standard

Tbh if you just cut off the box and leave it it will fail exhaust can't exit under the car for health . You'd need to weld a bit or straight pipe so it comes to the back off the bumper
