Anyone care to add to a list of things to look for when buying a K10 Micra ?

Known faults, things on their way out etc etc ....




Don't need you're life story, just what went and why ... maybe cost of repair/replacement and the age/year of your car
 
There is not much that can go wrong that wont be sorted by a full service. Do all the usual checks and be prepared to change the cam belt as soon as you get it. Its wise insurance since they need doing every 60000 miles and are often negelected.
 
54k the cambelt are meant to be changed as nissan state

check the front wings as these rust alot,
just general rust to look for really
 
rust on sills is always a concer, especially on the super S. Noisey maiun shaft bearing on gearbox, and the engone being smokey, and having knocking/rumbly bearings
 
All good advice, also check front suspension wishbones and engine mounts, these are usually all knackard by now. Basically these cars are now old enough that almost every rubber mount/bush will be very worn.
 
Be sure to change the water pump if you do the cambelt! If the water pump goes it takes the cam belt and smashes the engine!
 
water pump as well? oh dear! :down:

what sort of mileage do they do before the water pump lets go, any idea?

Is it a big job?
