You've got months yet, add it to your list of to-dos for JAE :D Makes it MUCH more satisfying seeing your car in all it's glory on the stand!

Don't worry about minor things like that, it's more cars covered in primer we want to avoid! :)

Don't worry too much about it Joe, my car is covered in all car park dings etc. It still had pictures taken even on the worse side lol as long as its clean and shiny you will be fine :) ps did you wash yours last year Karl? :p

Is there any chance mine (Millie) would make it onto the stand?
Ive been looking at the likes of jays harlens and Stani's cars and thinking I don't stand a chance? :/

First off: I'm flattered!

But honestly if you've paid to get in like everyone else, of course you'll be on the stand (as long as you've got the car cleaned and ready for the show - no filler and primer etc). The issue we had last year was to many people and cars for such a small plot... Which resulted in a row of cars behind the others :(

Looks like we've got a nice plot this year though so with a bit of choreography I reckon we should get all the cars on show... At least, I really hope we do. It sucked that some cars were hid away behind others.

Don't be silly
Haha come on now! I'm not saying I clean the car every couple of days... But in a car show, part of what makes it great is having pride in your own creation and admiring other cars from up and down the country... For me, giving it a ruddy good clean and a coat of polish for a show adds to that sense of pride. You're cleaning it, caring for it, making it look it's absolute best.

No need to be flattered there are so many nice micras on here and I have car park marks and little dents all over mine :/ and tbph I really could do with a full respray...
I'll have her ready plans to go lower after huge MOT repairs.

Instead of paying for BBQ can I just bring my own food? I'll be bringing a camping stove again for morning cuppa's
You can if you want, we've never forced the BBQ down people's throats! :)

Just to let everyone know, the BBQ will hopefully be run in a slightly more orderly fashion this year, so people (shouldn't) go hungry! :)

I meant for the bbq James, so instead of paying I'm willing to supply
Oh I see! I'm sure we can sort something out! :)
We'll be using disposable ones due to last year just to 100% make sure we eat what we pay for
Please PM me with what went wrong for you guys last year. Even if you want to do your own thing I'd like to know what happened so I can ensure it doesn't happen again for others :)

All the food that was put out was gone straight away, the next lot we stood in a queue and were told to go and sit down as it wasnt ready. We did and shortly after it was suddenly ok to queue again, i eventually got 1 sausage on a roll before no more was being cooked. And because we travelled such a distance we had to leave earlier than the sunday barbecue so wasnt value for money, it wasnt kev acting like gordon ramsay btw, dont know who he was.

I think a few of us experienced this

Just a quick point about the food we supplied on the BBQ last year, we spent a record amount on food, drinks and snacks, much more so then in any other year at JAE.

This was from everyone's contributions and around £100+ from the MSC as well.

Every BBQ that was ran on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday; there 'should' have been enough Burgers, Sausages for at least 2 per person for those that 'had paid' for them, as well as all the other food that was cooked off.

I ensured that on every BBQ there was a good selection of food being cooked at all times and did spot on many occasions full plates of the food cooked on the camping table near the gazebo.

Also the contributions made towards the BBQ, went into the soft drinks, the endless supply of crisps, cakes and chocolate and other snacks that where placed inside the gazebo available for everyone who 'had paid' for them.

I do however agree that in future years we could implement a change to ensure the food is 'evenly and fairly' shared out when it's cooked off.

Whoever cooks off the food on the BBQ this year could look into a better way of doing this...

Card and get stamped when you have redeemed your food item? (I can't cook to save my life so don't take that as me volunteering!)

I had the idea in my head of something we could mark to keep a tally of who's had what, so a similar idea to yours Enuo :)

Great minds and all that ;)
