Insurance Price Rise!

Well my policy ended in july with quinn direct i was 18 when i started with 0 NCB and they covered my TPF&F 1700 which was the best by miles...

Policy ended and i couldnt afford to insure the car for a month or two now coming back i have found that prices are stupidly high

I am now 19 1 years driving 1 years NCB driving a 1.0 94 lx no mods Full time student (cheapest) and 6000 miles garaged only sd&p and TPF&F

Here are my quotes in july 09

Quinn direct - £1100
Chris Knott - £978
Endsleigh - £1097

and here are my quotes for august 09


Quinn direct - £4400
Chris Knott - £1500
Endsleigh - £1529

Apparently all companies are raising there prices by as much as 20%

How am i expected to even drive!? im being punished for all the idiots in some chavtastic saxo who crash into unexpected lamposts but even saying this statisticly for me the only time ive had to slam breaks on,swerve or mount kurb is due to some middle aged woman with no idea of road signs the highway code or even anything on the road just interested in the doing makeup in mirror or singing to hair brush divas in a world of their own

Rightly or wrongly with insurance you are penalised for being young, if you do want to talk statistics have a look on the web and you can see why(not saying you are one of the statistics of course!). Have you tried www.confused.com saved me ringing around and quite a bit of cash.

Wow that really is quite harsh, had to deal with the same only a few years ago but never that bad...then again just seen where you live.
Inclined to say lucky you managed to get insurance full stop.

Hey Anderson, im in the same boat for insurance really, if i plan on getting insurance this year i have to pay like 2600 or something daft from most people, although i think Chriss Knott told me that august is insurance rush hour anyway, although there are specialised insurance packages out if your willing to give up night driving...

Although my insurance is not as high as yours, I enjoyed a 30% increase in my premiums over last year and that was the cheapest I could get. Others more than doubled..........not even Sky could offer any better even with discount. Premiums have definitely gone up and a LOT! Now my standard K11 is within £5 of my modified one and that's the best I could do with it.

Hi guys sorry its been a few days ive been in hospital =\, anyway i have tried everywere you can think ive tried moneysupermarket,gocompare,confused then i have gone direct to other companies who dont show i have rang every insurance firm you would know about until thins afternoon i was looking for my bank card and found an old mag i got when i passed my test it listed different insurance firms for younger drivers which nobody has really heard of i know ive not and ive looking into this for days. anyway most in all are still stupidly expensive until i came across one

Selecter..... i rang them up from another firm who gets the best price for me and they said on your details we have only one company who will even insure you (great i thought) i was asked some pretty wierd questions like whats your take on your passengers not wearing seatbelts and speed limit something i have never come across before anyway with about 10 mins gone he said right we can offer you insurance for £1002 in one payment and i almost fell to the floor and then even better came he said this is for fully comp and we have added legal,windscreen,hire car and 300 excess :wow: the cheapest i have ever had fully comp was 2700 and this beat my cheapest third party by 5-600 quid BARGIN

That's amazing, I was paying £400 fully comp and they've just put it up to £500 for no reason at all. may give selector a call .
