Ignition problems & gear knob

Hi chaps,

I have a Micra 1.2 K12 '04.

I have a question regarding the ignition. When it's hot weather, like it's been recently, the car will not start. As soon as the evening arrives, and the interior has cooled down, the car starts perfectly. Has anyone ever come across this problem, and if so, is there a cheaper solution than buying expensive ignition barrels/switches?

Also, I am looking for a chrome ball type gear knob to replace the horrendous generic Micra knob. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get one?

Not sure on the starting issue but I think Sparco do a chrome ball type gear knob .

is it cranking over but not firing or does it not turn over at all?

B&Q do chrome type gear knob, well its more of a door knob but my mates got one in his car and it looks suprisingly good

Did you ever remedy hot weather start issue as i have just bought 06 plate micra with this fault. Unknown to me though. Gutted
