Just spotted under the front bumper just under the radiator I found this. What part is this? And is it worth replacing/repairing

I'd personally replace the crossmember, but then i have to tools to let me do it so it would cost ###### all. Depends if you'd need to get a garage to do it, as a repair will / should be cheaper. Thats assuming theres any good metal nearby.

I've found crossmembers on eBay for £16 new. What does it require to change it? Bolts? Or welding?

Welding, so if you know what you are doing then have a bash! Otherwise get a garage (Y)

Friends of mine own a garage I will ask them. Does it need to be replaced urgently? Or is it not so important?

Well judging by what you have posted, I would. But thats up to you.

Take the front bumper off and assess the damage.

it's only the bottom of the member I'm that one location. The top and the rest are in perfect condition. Bit strange really.

Depending how bad that corner is a patch might do the job...i've usually found if one corners gone then the other will either be close behind or will have already won the corrosion race.
