get used to it. Its something we all have to deal with, your not the only one.

and also, what mods are you declaring? Try getting a quote for a standard car, should be quite cheap for a 17yr girl compared to what it cost me when i was 17.

One of the better ways is get the car insured in one of your parents names with you as a named driver

I have looked into getting mum to be insured and me the main driver however they said if modified it wouldnt be insurable as i am the main driver
an dthen i have looked into insurance for just standard and its under 1000

what mods have you been wanting cover to do?? has to be something big like sr20det coversion in order for them to say no way.

maybe a small list of mods to begin with then add more as the NCB build up??

:)

try your local co-op im 17 with a k11 super s i have declared my mods but my dad is down as main driver and im paying £1250

suprised to hear that luv!!!

i would think as you are female you can get insured a lot cheaper. for my 1st year i was with norwich union and this year im with endsleigh. they have both been quite reasonable for me!
i tried the ones in max power and rev's and all were ridiculas qoutes although i have heard adrian flux is good

just out of interest what mods are u trying to declare and stuff because if u aint got a car yet how can u declare mods?

Right

Chrome Wheel trims (Spinners) = £100
Wanker Lights = £50
Ripspeed decals = £70
Driving around wearing a Pink Fluffy Tiara = Priceless.

Hope that helps!

o_O where'd that come from :D

For one its in the wrong section, for a second your punctuation is crap and half the time you dont get what you mean across and for a third you talk utter nonsense at times. Adrian flux would deffinately insure you even with mods!

LMAO!! top quality!

None of this makes sence, your a female so it should be really cheap as micras are in a low insurace bracket anyways. Unless your planning to turn your micra in to a monster truck with a cannon on top with flashy lights all over it i wouldnt think there should be much of a problem....

but then again, maybe im just being silly...

Have you tried Co-op? sounds weird, you must be able to get insured somewhere with mods!
Some of you dudes need to chill. I aint trying to bum lick or anything but why is every givin her such a hard time? same at mh as well, are micra drivers really that gumpy?! so she made a few of mistakes, now she knows how things work, so give her a chance!

they probably wouldn't insure you because you mentioned princess or something, thought you were on something and therefore not fit to drive.

Get a car, keep it standard, insure it, then mod is slightly and declare it.
Dont ring them saying "Yeah, its a micra, 1.3 conversion, lowered, bodykit, big alloys, big stereo, big spoiler" etc etc because they will automatically think "Girl racer, no way"
Instead get a 1.0 micra and say nothing about mods untill you actually do them!

you will definatlyu be able to get insured
as many insurance companys said they would insure me on a mr2 at 17 ;)

alot depends on area my house in leeds (kinda on edge of chapeltown :p ) insurance there is twice as much as it is compared to my place outta town. the leeds addy anything much above a 1.0 they wouldnt insure me this is on a std car btw...n when i say double i mean 3k+

seem that the only way your going to be insured is until you have a years experiance with 1 eyars no claims :S

ok right to set the record straight

Adrian flux told me the could not insure me anything more than third party if i wanted to modify the car while i was below 25 (or 21)

direct line (who are the same company as tesco ,BMW , elephant and loads of others who are part of the general insurance group which means quotes are all taken from the same database which means all quotes should be the same) ok so direct line said i could in no way modify my car till i was 25 !!!

when i bought my car i hadnt passed my test so got it in my mums name and insured in hers aswell since i passed in feb ive just added myslef to it its still expensive but am looking at a new car in january anyway

I was declaring 1.3 litre micra with 16's.
respray
full body kit
lowered suspension
Changed lights
Full exhaust replacement
Interior change

They wouldnt insure me thru adrian flux

They would if i was 19... i felt it strange as me ex could get insurance with them

However i been quoted 1,500 now :) Endsleigh :)

interior and respray and silly things dont mean anything to insurers i was insured with mods on my own full comp only 800 pound....
