How much for starter?

How much should I expect to pay for a starter from a scrappy? Are all K10 starters the same? How about K11 or is that different?

The gear/cpg on the starter is worn. flywheel has been reskimmed but the starter needs replacing ideally, I can do this myself, couldn't skim the flywheel myself though.

Around £20 no more.

in my area it would be £10, you can get a brand new one for £60

Just out of curiosity...is your original problem the same as mine?....

Every now and then (generally when there are by-standers) the starter grinds very loudly / doesn't engage properly when I try to start. Then I have to play with the gears a little in order to get the flywheel to move on slightly before it will engage and start properly.

or is yours just plain dead?
