How does the passenger air-bag deploy?

I just noticed while being driven home to-night that there is no airbag panel on the passenger side dashboard of my Micra. Other air-bag equipped cars I have had, had a cut out panel on the dashboard. This cut-out panel would be ejected when the air-bag energised.

The dashboard of my Micra is continous from one side of the car to the other i.e. no cut out panel.

Out of interest, does anyone know how the airbag deploys?

the airbag will blow straight through the side of the dash mate it`s only thin plastic that it`s made of so the airbag can make it through hopefully you`ll never have to use it though

nooooooo no crashing k12`s please though tbh you`d have to crash it pretty hard to blow the airbag mine ran itself down a steep drive into a wall an didn`t blow it
