HELP please Brake Light Problem

first of all Wish all you guys a Very Happy X mas & Wonderfull new Year...

Guys My 2001 Micra just gave me a problem after a Party which i attended today..

As i stoped and ofed the car the Brake Light just kept lighting and i had to disconnect the battery in order for it to power off..

Pls tell me what i should check B 4 I put it to a Micanic...

have you checked the switch on the pedal ?

It does sound like the switch needs adjusting or replacing.

probably not the switch. Probably a little rubber thing that is meant to touch the switch when the brake is not on. It is supposed to fit in the brake pedal, but may have broken apart from old age.

Replace it with a bolt. There should be a few topics about it on here. Search "brake light switch"

Is it just the light or is it affecting the braking somehow?

I've dealt with this before, and it sounds identicle to my experience.

Check the rubber thing behind the brake, it can easily be replaced with a bolt.

Yep Guys It was the Rubber thing and got it replaced...
