so i got my micra sitting there and looked at the last MOT and saw it had a advisory for a corded front cross member heard its a common problem for micra's what everyone do to fix them without paying out for a new one

If its a small welding job, do that. Its a cheapie thing to buy new (£30) but reading the blogs on here, its a bitch to fit a new one. imo.

Just go to a decent welder, he'll know whether its fixable or not.

Please correct me If Im wrong...is this the part that the radiator sits on...If it is it should not be an mot failure according to our garage..an advisor yes...we had it on our 1.3 and when we told him to sort it for the mot he said we dont need to...he cut away the corrosion and welded a new piece in...a few weeks after the mot....good as new....your right Daveyboy..it is a pig of a job to replace the complete thing if its what Im thinking of...
