Hatchback unlocks/opens going along - lock fault
In the absence of any ideas I ended up in the garage. Apparently this is a common fault with Micra's, in fact a whole range of vehicles were recalled in order to fix the problem. The fault lies with the lock mechanism and is only resolved by replacement. If your vehicle has this problem then check if your VIN is included in the recall. Sod's law in my case and it didn't qualify as the VIN was outside those recalled - even though the fault was identical! grr I had my lock replaced and luckily it was covered under the extended warranty that I bought with the car.:laugh:
