I'm currently using 10W-40 and it seems fine however my chain is a bit noisy so I'd like thicker oil at higher temps, what do you recommend?

Usually Castrol 10W-40 from Halfords or if I'm skint it's usually Carlube 10W-40 from Tesco.

Both semi I believe

I think that could be this issue, those are basic oils and are probably breaking down quickly. Try out the Fuchs Syn MC
