Golf gti 1.8

Hey guys i got a k11 that ive wanted todo a conversion on for a wile now but i have got no experience in doing stuff like this befor but I'm willing to learn.

I was orignaly looking for a sr20 to drop in but I can't find one for love nor money but yesterday I had a friend offer me a Golf gti 1.8 engine, ecu, wireing loom and gear box for 250 but what I would like to know is it possible to fit such a engine in the k11 bay?

If so what am I looking at changeing etc

I hope you'll be able to help as I've been wanting to get started on my car for a wile now!

What year is that from? You talking 1.8T from the MK4 or the 1.8 from pre MK3?

At 250 I'll go with a MK2 8v 1.8?

It's a heavy lump, will RUIN the handling on the Micra and gonna have fun trying to fit it.

Infact, I don't even know if it will fit with the box. If it does I'd imagine the driveshafts are gonna be a ##### to get at the right angles.

I have a block and box in my garage. I will measure it tomorrow for you.

There are much better engines for the job tbh.
