gearbox oil meter!

Hi,

Can anyone pls. tell me how to check the gearbox oil level in a k11? I have seen the article on "changing the gear oil" but I just need to check the oil level only. Thanks in advance.

i think it should be level with the plastic gear down the speedo cable hole (10mm bolt and pull it out)

there is a 3/8" socket hole in the front of the gear box near the front engine mount... oil should be up to this level....

K10, K11 or K12?
Assume the K11 on your profile.

Is it the 1L or 1.3L engine. The gearboxes are different. The pre 1999? 1L doesn't have the fill point at the front.

make sure you change the gearbox oil on flat gound, if its inclined it will give you a false reading

not that i made this mistake or anything...
