Fuel Filter in tank or not?

So I have read multiple threads and people are saying in the k12, the fuel filter is in the tank. Looking round the engine bay, I can't see a fuel filter but there is one thing that confuses me.

If the fuel filter is in the tank, how come a new fuel filter from eurocarparts is an inline filter type? Do ECP have this wrong? Or does the fuel sender assembly dismantle so you can fit a new filter?

On diesel models the filter is somewhere in the engine bay and is replaceable, on petrol engines is integrated in the fuel pump and is inside the fuel tank.

A lot of cars have multiple fuel filters with different amounts of filtration the further you get from the fuel tank

So the fueltank one is usually a bag filter with fairly big holes in it, then the engine bay one which is corrugated paper inside a metal holder, and then each injector usually has a little fine metal mesh screen on it too

Some cars combine the bag filter and paper kind on the fuel sender unit, and then have the injector filters

Not sure which one the k12 is, depends on model, I'd check haynes to be sure
