Frankspped vs Janspeed Manifolds

What are the main differences and what bhp increase from each one?

lol glad i termed the phrase "Frankspeed" lol.


franks one has been shown to give an increase of about 10%, proved on a dyno, check his thread
the janspeed shows an improvement of about 20%

however, i think franks is better for everyday use as it allows you to keep the standard look in your engine bay ( good for insurance ) not only this, unlike the janspeed you WILL pass your MOT on emissions as you can keep your primary cat..

it is a clever bit of kit

if you just want to put it in and forget about it, go for franks, if you are happy to change it every year for your MOT then janspeed,

also you need to ask frank very nicely if he will do it for you lol.

6hp on mine tom (1/2 way down page 7 of my blog) probably less on a stock 1.0, in theory

a wise man once told me - remove the manifond and manifold-to-front-pipe bolts, and crack that bad-boy on the floor (not actuall quote, but close enough lol) :laugh:

the postage is £7 - £8 micra-mad so it,s barely worth it tbh
it would be cheaper (and easier for me lol ) to post the 2mm thick fillet piece tho, if anyone wants to diy a manifold ?
