Few Q's

Hi. I was considering getting a K10 Micra for track use as its fairly light (well when stripped etc) and easy to work on!

What i would like to know is there any engines that drop in or, go in with parts available for any specialists etc (Custom mounts etc).

Type of power i would be looking for would be 130bhp-150bhp with the engine either running twin carbs, bike carbs/Throttle bodies or T/B's. Also have the usual other mods like Cams, 4-2-1 Manifold etc etc

Is this possible? Also, is there a good selection of mods like having decent discs and brakes all round? Suspension etc?

Thanks in advance :)

ps not looking for any bank breaking mods, why im after an easy engine to pop in and mod.

i cant help you either im afraid, BUT there have been a few on ebay, not sure if it is what your looking for but the ones ive seen have had a roll cage in, one bucket seat, steering, no glass, engine, lowered suspension (im a novice so dont know bout the engine side.

Why do you feel compelled to post "I don't know" responses? It just clutters up the forums more than they are already.

There are no easy 'drop in' engine conversions for the K10 im afraid. You have the choice of the standard 1.0 or 1.2 engines. With quite a bit of work one of those should be able to put out about 120bhp and you should be able to get the car down to about 650kg. There was a rare (not imported to uk) Turbo model of the K10 that is considerably more powerful, but it wont be cheap.
There are not many tunning parts available at the moment but the K10s are starting to become popular in Autograss racing so you may find that parts start to become more easily available in the future.

Possibly a better bet is to go for a K11 since it is used for rallying. Therefore there are lots of parts available for it. The engine is a lot more tunable and it doesnt weigh that much more.

Hope thats of some use.

Thanks for the replys all. What engine options are available for the K11 version Micras? My preference is to have a 1.6 16v

theres been lots of talk of engine conversions and stuff in the past. have a search around and hopefully you'l find some useful info :)

there is a micra owner on micraholics who has a 700kg K11 so there is only 50kg in it plus the K11 will take to the mods easier.
as for engine i recn with good intake, carbs or TB's, cams, exhaust, and ecu remap you will have your 130bhp maybe more, but u will need to uprate gasket as it is only designed to take 120bhp max, also if u go with TB setup u can change the injectors to 1.6 injectors from the primera.

i love micras they r so easy to tune and parts interchangable i.e. injectors, TB's, gearbox n some others i cant think of jus now.

:D hope this helps :D

p.s if im wrong jus shoot me down n correct me thanks :D

dose the farargo 1.0 turbo fit in

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WW...ategory=CARS&channel=CARS&id=200601219467778#

figaro engine will fit in no problem, wiring it up should be easy aswell also a performance clutch will be needed if you use a manual gearbox, i have consided this route but i dont have the money to buy a figaro, i did find one that was being scraped but the engine had already been sold :(

How do you think wiring it up will be easy? You have little chance unless you get the full loom for the ecu and the pin outs for where it joins the cars ecu. to merge them as one.

also a standard k10 gearbox will not fit the figaro engine you would need a k10 turbo or super turbo one. also iirc the k10 book weigh is 620kg for the manual version more for the auto's for obvious reasons
