Engine swap without gearbox

Morning
I am looking to swap the engine on my daughters 1.2 K12 - the timing chain is shot and I have access to a good later model K12.
I am intending to swap out the engine while leaving the GB in place.
Your friendly Haynes manual only details engine/GB complete unit removal.
Seems like a lot of extra work drive shafts etc if I can just remove the engine.
Basically I need to know how difficult or even possible it is to remove just the engine.

Did you remove engine ? I am doing this, or trying to, have front bumper upper and lower cross rails off and looking to put slabs under gearbox and engine and then slide engine off gearbox, if room to clear input shaft.
