Quick question,

Do the Micra engines lift out or drop from the bottom?

i always lower the g/box down (with shaft,s and rod,s on) then lift the engine over the lower x member (using the jack)

they very easily drop out from the bottom too if you don't have access to a crane.

i think speedle lifted his micra (now curtis') over the ebgine after dropping it out

iirc frank doesnt use a crane, he just pulls it out! NeX dropped his out of the bottom.

Well can lift out if you want but i have a bad back.

Ah right ok cool,just that my new engine arrives today and will be put in hopefully during the week/weekend

label everything will save you the hassle later.

i lifted mine out (removed the gearbox then the engine), but i lowered the front end as close to the floor as possible so there was less lifting (i ended up with only the thickness of the front crossmember to clear)...

when refitting its possible to slide the engine (minus the gearbox) from underneath with the centre member still in place...its tight but can be done...when i did that id jacked the front end way up, it was probs close to 45 degrees.

I have a crane, whats happened? You havent updated you blog for ages? Last I heard is that you went into a river with your micra, are you going for bigger engine?

hes replacing it for another standard one as his is hydrolocked so i belive.
