right guys I've got a question regarding clutches
My car needed a new 998 engine so I sourced one that happens to come with a clutch still attached.
Took the broken engine out of the car
And carried it to the garage
Plan was to take the gearbox off the rubbish engine and fit it too the new one and change the clutch release bearing and have one good engine with a good gearbox and clutch
Howver got the gearbox off fine
But the clutch release bearings are different sizes
So I've worked out the broken engine has a 180mm clutch fitted and the good engine has 160mm fitted
The clutch bearing bracket thingy
Doesn't fit the 160mm clutch release bearing I've got so it's evident I need to get a new 180mm clutch kit in order to use the gearbox! So more money
But my question is, if I fit the new 180mm clutch to the flywheel will the gearbox fit.
Because I've got this problem too
New engine
(No gap between flywheel and engine)
Old engine
(Huge gap between flywheel and engine)
So will my old gearbox fit the new engine?
Many thanks
Lawrence
