Dashboard paint removal

hi

i have a k11 but the previous owner sprayed the top section black. The obvious solution would be to fit a new dash but could anyone recommend a stuff to take the paint off?

Sand it off?! then respray to your liking? Or mayb paint thinners used for modelling? Failing that brake fluid is usually pretty good at removing all paints! but thats prob not a good idea! Dont really know tbh, i suppose it depends on what type of paint was used to spray

its plastic aswell, and cleaners might fade the dash? or wreck it?

If its an acrylic based paint, which it more than likely is, theres nothing you can do besides sand it off and end up with a scratched surface, or just paint over it.

If the previous owner used the proper spray for spraying dashboards then it's more of a dye than a paint and cant be removed.

But I think you should be able to spray over it. Halfords do a selection of sprays in different colours you could use.
