Dashboard lights flashing?

Ok, so a friend asked me to rev my car, I did, and now my dash lights are flickering?

This happened a while ago, and I've managed to put up with it untill now, where the hell do I chase the wires to!?

I can't seem to see any signs of splitting or general ####eness in the wiring!

Bad earth or knackard battery

I should really specify, it's solely the speedo etc back lights. Where is the earth located?

I'm no good with electronics, so if I traced it back how would I solve the problem? Would I need to disconnect the battery?

Is there a generic placement where the earth would be? And whats the best way to track it down!

The battery is perfectly fine, so we can ignore that!

it's just the back lights? all of them? have you taking the cluster apart and checked the bulbs?
make sure they are in snug etc.

have you checked for a dodgy connection where the 3 plugs fit into the circuit board/ribbons luke ?

have you fitted a new bulb for the rear brakelights? this cant cause weird things to happen to the interior lights

Dito, check those bulbs before you spend hours chasing wire faults.

I'm 99% sure that it's not the bulbs, at one point, I swapped the bulbs around, and they all seemed to work! The brake lights were changed before MOT, and the fault was occuring prior to that!

I guess I should check the cabling at the back, but I still think it could be bad earth :\

Where are these plugs sweetness? At the back of the cluster?
