Micra 1.3 gx, cvt transmission, 1997, 52000 km.
Problems:
- Real difficulties changing between N to D/Ds and back to N, P to R is much easier when engine running (when engine is not running it changes all gears without problems). Sometimes it doesn't go into D at all, so have to restart car and it might work changing gears (although transmission doesn't seem to be happy by the sound of it).
- When driving and breaking to a standstill, just before stopping it makes a few hops forward, really annoying.
- At around 40-50 km/h it makes the same sort of hops.
- Other then that the car runs fine.
Dashboard indicates no warning lights. Changed transmission oil but no real change to the better. Nissan authorized service said powder clutch needs replacement, cost between 2-3000 euros parts only!
The car had been standing still around 6 months before driving it. I read somewhere that this could cause rust in wires and the electromagnetic powder clutch wouldn't work too well? But they didn't mention this at nissan service?
Anyway, the car is in top shape, like new... just the transmission causing troubles.
Any ideas what to do withouth paying 2-3000 euros just for the parts?
