cross member removal

Hi all.

Is there a post anywhere that shows you how to remove the front lower cross member?

there are about 100 threads on here madrat, have you tried a google search on "micra.org cross member" ?

What I'm really after are some pictures of the removal.

OK thanks, the pictures have made things a lot clearer. Do you think it's possible to do the job without removing the radiator and more importantly the air con condenser?

I did mine leaving the rad plumbed in, didn't have aircon so don't know about that

the rad supports are also on the crossmember so unless ur reusing the old ones or the new member comes with it fitted I'd either get new supports or just bend a new bracket.
you can leave the rad hanging but it's so easy to just drain n remove the rad.

It'll be more awkward with that air con rad in place as that too sits on the cross member and is bolted to it either side I think. Just support those two rads.

Cross member changed, bugger me that was rusty I ended up having to remove both headlight, and I would love to get hold of the person that designed the outer mounting method for the bumper Both radiators just hung there even the lower radiator mountings were fine with just 2 studs breaking off old cross member Looks much better just needs a liberal coating of seam sealer, under seal and waxoyl.
