changing shocks

hi i have a micra k11 m reg and one of my front shocks have gone, can anyone tell me if this is quite easy as a diy job??

also do you need to remove the spring from around the shock ok can you remove the shock without removing the spring?

Yeah tbh I thought it was quite easy when changed complete unit, couple of bolts and nuts - the hardest thing for me in some ways was the weight, I'm not that strong It was the first time I'd done them so yes a learning curve but still easy enough.

Are you changing just the shock? If so yes [have only changed complete unit] but that will be trickier IMO.....
