Being not a big fan of chrome, I took a look at what I could do with the front vents on the bonnet.

I bought some stupidly expensive mesh at the autojumble at Newark the other day.

I will let the pictures do the talking.

Pretty pleased with how it turned out, need to add some more glue as I'm not sure the bostic all purpose is cutting it.

Just need to do the other one now.

Verdict?

Yeah, probably. I was trying to use something fairly invisible, hence the bostic glue.

unless someone's peeking through from underneath, it'll hardly be noticeable from outsiders if done neatly from inside.

Mine is similar to that, the wire in the lower panel is sprayed black. Got the wire from B & Q for about £20 abouts.

The wire is polished aluminium from B&Q quite cheap, and you get a lot of it. Didn't notice black, but there's a gold mesh as well, also different patterned mesh....worth a look bud.

The alloy expanded stuff I used was £8 for enough to do both vents.

Then I discovered guttering guard - the stuff you tuck in roof guttering on your house to stop leaves getting in. Much cheaper and probably looks just as good.

That's a good shout, I've still got over half a sheet left after doing the wings, my bonnet vents, and the lower panel.
