Would it be a bad idea to remove this?Would it effect the emmisions?

it wont affect your exhaust emissions baz (i think it just captures the tank fumes on a hot day, then burns them when the purge valve is open)

I think I'll leave it the way it is,I though I may be getting some vac leaks from this, but id rather that than the smell of petrol coming from the engine bay

I removed mine and capped it. Mine now works in the same way as the early K10's.
