how does this baffle work? obviously by removing it the airflow in the box is cleaner/more direct so making it louder; but how does the baffle affect the cars performance, ie its implications of being in place?
It's probably there for noise suppression, although they design these things with computers for optimum midrange performance - the areas of the revrange where normal people drive rather gaining a bit of performance at peak rpm.
