Yes yes I agree. Fantastic day. DIdn't even attract negative attention from the police.

I exchanged a few "friendly" words with a poofy tight-pants bike rider though. God I would have loved to do a u turn and throw a newspaper at him.

Plus how was that green s2 super s? So freaky that we see that colour s2 super s all the time. :p Anyone remember what street that was? Matty?

Cheers

Yeh I'm interested in it as a car for sister (gah, i'll strip all the good stuff from it first though so she can't ruin it.. :p)

But I really doubt they'd be willing to sell. Not with fuel prices at their current levels.

Yeah great turnout today. the thing i like most about the micra forum members is that everyone is so nice and so easy going. Ive been to some in my meets in my gtr and the only thing they talk about is the size of their "OWN" members..... not my cup of tea! but having said that it was a bit of a sausage fest today...... WHERE ARE THE LADIES? WHATS YOUR EXCUSE?

I also had an excellent time !. Thanks to everyone that attended for making it such an enjoyable event. Special thanks to "NoJammin" for acting as our guide and "AlexB" for being the official photographer.

The early start was a great idea.... the run out to Mt Glorious was awesome with not much traffic really.

I like to say thanks to all that turned out for the meet, its nice to put faces to names. I agree with gtrholic, I've been on a few meets with other forums & by far you guys are the easiest to get along with & just sit & chat with. Hope to catch up with you all again soon, the war paint should be gone by then :)

I wish, Whitey. No, was in my brother's Prado 4WD, I actually worked out that I would be struggling to get over there in the micra, fuel consumption being what it is and the distance between servos, I would probably have to take a jerry can just in case, the roadhouses are not always open, and when they are, the fuel was at most $169.9/litre. Also, I was thinking that one of those radiator shields (flyscreen wire attached over the grill where the radiator sits, would be necessary, as there were huge, and I mean humungous moths. So big that when they hit the windscreen it was like someone throwing rocks at you. But yeah, I fantasised that I was in the micra doing the trip alone, you just gotta watch out for the skippys, goats, emus, but they're mostly only a problem at dusk.
Going across was an experience I won't forget for a long time, and I mean that in a favourable sense. Awesome.

I am already planing a trip to Perth across the Nulla next year. On the return trip I will follow the coast back through to Adelaide and then onto Melbourne. Should take me a few weeks. Thats the plan anyway.

Well Hack is making the journey come June. Driven some long distances in my time like Brissie to Adelaide but never across the mighty Nulla.
It will be an experience for my wife and daughter as they have never done a trip like this so will be an eye opener. Yeah right micragirl have to be careful around dusk as the wildlife gets a bit active. Anyway emu would go clean over the top and skippys also.
Maybe the first Micra to cross the Nulla?. I bet its the first forced one!!

Just one more thing. If you plan to tow a trailer across the Nullarbor, the speed limit once you get into W.A. is 100 kph not 110 as sign posted. And the highway patrol are red hot on interstate travellers and won't hesitate to book you even if you are 2 kph over their speed limit. There are also quarantine inspection stations at the S.A. border and also the W.A. border. Also make sure you have plenty of your own water with you as the roadhouses will not give you a drop, there are signs everywhere stating that their water in the taps is unfit for drinking, its mainly recycled water or bore water, I tried the bore water and it made me sick for about 24 hours. Just makes you realise what a precious commodity H2O has become!

Will take a can of petrol just in case plus knowing my darling wife their will enough food water to survive one week in the desert.
