Hi Everyone,
I have an issue on the daughters car.
Its a 1.2 Auto and this only happens when its cold.
The problem is you pull away and anything less than a granny style foot action see's the engine race up to the red line before the first gear change. This is obviously not a desired way to treat a cold engine and after a min or two the shift is fine.
I've checked the oil and its fine and looks new, in fact there's a receipt for trans fluid change at a gearbox specialist just before we bought it, 6 months ago.
I've read the haynes manuals rather limited info and have discovered the changes are controlled electronically rather than by fluid pressure.
Does anyone have an auto with similar traits?
Could it be caused by filling with the wrong fluid; although I would think they would know what they are doing!
Anyway we can put up with it, she drives like a granny so probably hasn't noticed it.
Cheers
Vince
