Another Timing Chain Rattle

Hi,

I have a 1995 micra with 150,000Km on it. I have read the past threads on timing chain noise as well as the very good Nissan Diagnostic Procedures on this site. The Diagnostic Procedures mentions a 'scraping noise'. When I start the engine, I get a noise from the area a bit like when a power steering unit is on the way out. After about 10 minutes driving - it is cold here, around freezing - it quietens down a lot. Just the occassional very slight rattle.

I bought the car a couple of days ago of ebay to have something around to take my wife to hospital. All in all it is very tidy. All in all, I need to get 6,000Km off it in total.

I welcome any and all advice.

my top chain went at 100000mls it was more of a ching ching noise (one link was hanging by a thread) and the bottom chain was still ok when i broke the car at 132000mls
if you take the cam cover off (10 minute job) you,ll be able to check the top chain
