Air filter upgrade

So I have a 1.0l 16v Micra, with a mighty 60hp! Enough of the bragging, I'm looking to install an aftermarket air filter. One to reduce the amount of debris that flies into the stock one, which is mad amount. And two to spruce up my engine bay a bit!
BUT, when removing the stock one there was a vacuum line to unplug, when installing the new pod filter will I have to feed that line into the new system?

That line you mention is a breather for the engine. Most ppl put a small filter on it.
