Adapting an Exhaust to Fit

Brutal Honesty
So just acquired a 3" can which I'd like to fit but it needs adapting.

And this is the end which needs to be adapted to fit. Ideally I'd like to weld the bend from a standard backbox.

This looks stainless, can stainless be welded? I think my friend has a MIG welder.
I was thinking of inserting a steel pipe with some exhaust paste and a tight clamp then welding the bend to that instead?

Thanks

just be carefull if its stainless mate as it gives off toxic gasses iirc and your supposed to have a specific qualification to weld it

To help you fit the standard pipe. EBay "exhaust cone reducer" so van go from a big diameter to a smaller one. Will help the welding a lot :)

Need to find a way to mount it too, eugh!

Cheers for the advise Jay, don't suppose you know the diamater of standard pipe? Looks to be 1.5inches? I think this can is 2"

I looked at reducers, good ideas but they cost me than what I paid for the exhaust itself so I'll improvise with some cutting and a hammer.

I might not actually fit this. It only cost me a tenner anyway.

I'll look into getting one ready to fit as I'm a lazy sod who dislikes challenges.
