Is the ABS warning light on constantly?
If the ABS light stays on as you drive it means the ABS system has turned off, the brakes will still work but the ABS assistance will not.
It is helpful if you have access to the correct diagnostic equipment, a decent fault code reader or the correct software on a laptop computer.
If you do not have the use of this equipment have a look at the outer CV joints. You will see a toothed ring, make sure it is not split or missing any teeth. Ensire it is free from grease and not badly corroded.
The rear hubs have a similar ring round the hub behind the disc or drum.
Check the condition of the sensors and wires too. If you find the rings you should be able to see the sensors too. Check for cut or corroded wires and split sensors.

dunno if this'll apply to ur facelift micra but check my blog about how i put my pre-facelift 98 slx abs unit into diagnostic mode and reset the unit by simply grounding the consult plugs 4th pin which is the purple/white wire. the facelift micras consult plug maybe upside down to pre-facelifts
