5 door seat runner alteration for more leg room

Hi

I am 6'3" and still struggle to fit comfortably with the seat pushed back to the stops. I have a 94 5 door and was hoping to alter / remove the stops as I once managed with a Cordoba that then gave me another 2" of legroom. I have looked at the runners and cannot fine any sign of a stop, although there is indeed one that stops movement. Has anyone managed to alter runners and where do I drill / cut etc?

Thank you

Nigel

the stops are pressed into the steel nigel, and ball bearings and nylon rods fall out if you grind them off (and overshoot)
i removed a lot of the foam from the seatbase (which means you sink into the seat a lot more, pics in my blog somewhere) that may be a better option for you :)

I had thought of your wonderfull deduction, that is why I did wrote "alter / remove"" but until I can get the seat in the correct position I am not sure about how to locate it. I have previously drilled straight through the runners and bolted them up safely.

Thank you Frank. Do I drill into the indentations? After I have finished with the car it will go for scrap so I am only concerned about comfort for myself or perhaps even drilling extra holes for bolting up in a different position for my girlfriend should she need to drive in an emergency.

PS my previous comment was directed at superls who's specialist subject is as John Cleese once said "STATING THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS"

lol some has to do it, lol.

if you have a welder or has a mate that has and your not really bothered about moving the seat when its in the right position, you could alter or make some custom seat rails that bolt further back.
