Hi People

We changed the spark plugs on my car yesterday along with a few other bits and pieces, and noticed the two center spark plugs were very oily, and the two outer ones were normal

Can anyone tell me what this indicates or suggests? Have i got a dodgey gasket or valve or something

Seems to drive and run fine, but i dont want it blowing up

Cheers
Rimmer

Yeah i know, but im hoping someone here may have first hand experience with the above. Im told the two middle ones going oily is meant to mean something.

ive seen this alot mate i wouldnt worry too much you'll always have at least one oily plug when removing them, is the car using much oil? if its not using oil then dont worry to much :)

Depends where the oil is really. To get a true spark plug reading, you need to go for a fast drive, pull over and remove the spark plugs straight away, otherwise it doesn't really mean much.

well i had this but got a 1.2 before I could be bothered to find out what the problem is.

You dont have to rag the 1.2 quite as much so get one of those...

It'l blow up the way i drive it so im sticking with the 1.0 until i get a new car

could be valve stem seals leaking a little due to you ragging it around, oh and if you replace them no doubt your piston rings will blow shortly afterwards if you regrind the valves in

You're such a worm, i can't believe u tell u me u treat her with respect, and then u brag about raggin her on here!!

And u seem to have forgotten to mention the mass amount of dirt that was surrounding the spark plug holes, this wasn't just oil, it was solid, like dirt and grit. No wonder the car kept dying on u!! :p
