My girlfriend has a 1.0l micra, which when you come to start it in the morning or evening after work, it doesn't really want to start. When you turn the key, it kindof starts (sound like one cylinder) and cuts out again.
I've found that if you put your foot flat to the floor on the accelerator and then crank it, it starts, splutters a bit, then gradually over about 10 seconds or so, splutteringly builds up the revs and then it'll rev freely. When you take your foot back off the accelerator, it idles fine and will then continue to run fine for the whole journey.
I don't think its using any oil or water (no smoke etc. out of the back).
Does anyone have any idea's what is up, as she is getting a bit worried about driving it doing what it is doing!
