1.2 Suntop Restoration

Now that I am in the final stages of this project I can post an update. This is a new thread that picks up where the old one left off.

So briefly - this is what I began with.

And skipping past a lot of the work that was done, we come to the work that has taken place over the last six months.

Soundproofing:

Slight interior modification:

Much engine work done (porting shown):

Bodywork and assembly complete:

Presently I am at the engine assembly stage of the project, which is on hold due to poor weather conditions.
The final stage is the manufacture and fitment of the intended stainless steel manifold and exhaust system.

Is that a factory suntop? As i thought Nissan never sold that option over in the UK. I knew they sold them in some parts of Europe but i've never seen a RHD one

Finished

Having faced so many delays with this project, it is a great relief to say that the car is now finished.
The final work (below) was the exhaust system. A 4-2-1 system made entirly of stainless steel.

Factory UK model. The roof was always an option here, but expensive, hence why they are rare.
